Samsung Galaxy Grand & Grand Duos: Low-Budget Phablets finally launched

Samsung now targets a low budget market for Phablets. The much in rumors Samsung Galaxy Grand is finally announced yesterday on 18^th of December [link]. It is a 5 inch low budget Phablet that is set to release in the first quarter of 2013. After the grand success of Samsung Galaxy Note II & also Galaxy S III, this phone will be special to keep an eye on. Samsung Galaxy Grand specifications are not up to the Galaxy Note II standards, but the look is much similar.

Samsung Galaxy Grand (GT-I9080) is a single SIM version whereas the Samsung Galaxy Grand DUOS (GT-I9082) will be its dual-SIM version. The phablet will sport a 5 inch WVGA display having capacitive touchscreen. It will be powered by 1.2GHz Dual-Core processor along with 1GB RAM. Now, you can enjoy multi-tasking using Multi-Window feature easily. It also has 8GB internal memory along with micro SD card slot supporting up to 64GB memory. The phone will run on the latest Android 4.1.2 JellyBean OS.

Samsung Galaxy Grand has dual camera. It has 8MP rear camera (with LED flash) which supports Full HD video recording. It also has a 2MP front facing camera which could be used well for Skype or 3G video calls. The phone weighs 162 grams with its thickness being less than 10mm. Some interesting features have been added to this device like-

Direct Call: Automatically Dial a call by raising phone up to the ear.

Smart Alert: Shows missed calls & other notifications by just picking up the phone.

Popup Video: Watch video while running other tasks alongside.

S Voice: Voice recognition for usage of the phone (much like SIRI).

Samsung Galaxy Grand launched

Samsung Galaxy Grand is loaded with many connectivity features like 3G, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0. It has a USB 2.0 port & an HDMI port too. It also has standard inbuilt apps. As of targetting a low-budget market, the phablet could be well in the range of Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 25,000.
