Japanese security company Secom has developed a private security drone. This drone is different from drones used by military forces in two ways. Firstly it is made for use in a room only, second difference is that it’s not armed with any weapon. It is also light in weight.
It is equipped with a surveillance camera. Drone stars working as soon as the security alarm is tripped and record the whole happening. Drone has four rotors, its weight is 1.6 kg and is 24 inch wide.
The Drone is based on the model of a German company, Ascending Technologies. Secom added software and other devices such as camera. According to company it is world’s first private security drone.
Drone can also track moving subjects using laser sensors keeping a safe distance from the subject. From April 2014 drone will be available for rent worth $58 (Ұ 5,000) per month.
Secom will also offer the service to other countries in future. Currently drone is under testing.
