Nokia releases Low-Budget Nokia Asha 205 phone below Rs.3500

Nokia had announced its low budget Asha Series phone last month. Now, they have finally released the phone to the stores. Nokia Asha 205 is a Dual SIM phone that was announced to be priced at Rs. 3,499. It was launched on Infibeam.com yesterday with a 7% discount at Rs. 3,349 [link]. As of now, Nokia Asha 205 is the cheapest Asha series phone by Nokia. It is followed by Nokia Asha 200 (QWERTY) & Nokia Asha 202 (Num Pad) both around Rs. 4,000.

Nokia Asha 205 has a 2.4 inch LCD display, missing touchscreen. It would have a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. It has a QWERTY keypad along with dedicated buttons for messaging & Facebook. The camera seems to be poor. With 4x digital zoom, it has a 0.3MP VGA rear camera.

It has some pre-installed apps like Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, eBuddy chat, etc. I wonder why eBuddy is given more importance than Whatsapp Messenger. It will miss those Android Apps feel as it runs on the Series 40 Asha platform. But it does support those Java based games.

Nokia Asha 205 has a standard 1020mAh Li-Ion BL-5C battery. It may give a talk time up to 11 hours. It has an internal memory of 64MB. It supports external SD card up to 32GB.

Nokia Asha 205 has a specialized feature of a dedicated hardware button for Facebook. So, now no need to create a shortcut on the screen or search deep into the app list.
