It is the Karbonn Smart Tab 7 Tornado. Karbonn is gearing up with these tablets as well as the latest 5.9 inch Karbonn A30 which was launched 2 days ago. This 7 inch Tablet is available online with a price tag of Rs. 5,499. Yeah, now tablets don’t cost more than your budget smartphones. • First Looks:

Karbonn Smart Tab 7 Tornado has a 7 inch TFT Capacitive Touchscreen with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. The front side only has a camera on its top. The back shows company logo at the center & speakers at the lower left side of the logo. The images released by Karbonn don’t reveal much about the sides of the device. But the specs says that it has 3.5mm Audio jack, USB port, microSD slot & the most important- it does not have SIM card support.

• Hardware:

Karbonn Smart Tab 7 Tornado has 1.2GHz Cortex A9 Single-Core processor. The processor quality seems to be poor. Also the RAM size is below expectation. It has 512MB RAM & 4GB internal storage. SD slot will help you expand storage up to 32GB. Karbonn Smart Tab 7 Tornado runs on Android 4.0 ICS & not on JellyBean.

• Camera & Battery:

Karbonn Smart Tab 7 Tornado has single camera. It has 2MP front camera which will help you for video calling or can only act as a mirror. It seems disappointing when Karbonn gives least importance to camera. It also has a better 3700mAh battery which could give usage time of around 6-7 hours.

• Gaming & Multimedia:

Karbonn Smart Tab 7 Tornado has a 3D G-sensor for improving gaming experience. It has Angry Birds, Death Racing, Hungama MyPlay games pre-installed. The device supports various audio & video formats too. Speaker’s quality should be checked before buying as I don’t trust these speakers.

• Connectivity:

Karbonn Smart Tab 7 Tornado has limited connectivity options. You can connect to internet through 3G but only via external USB dongle. Dongles supported are- Tata Photon & Reliance 3G. It supports Wi-Fi but still unknown if it has hotspot functionality. It has micro USB v2.0 port. It misses some of the most important features like Bluetooth & HDMI out port. Also GPS yet support is unknown.

• Softwares:

Karbonn Smart Tab 7 Tornado has common apps like Google Play Store, Gmail, Gtalk, Youtube, and Facebook. It has some games like Angry Birds, Death Racing & Hungama MyPlay. Other apps are- Times of India app, Just Dial app, Economic Times, Documents to go, etc.

BLIND VERDICT:

The Karbonn Smart Tab 7 Review makes it much clear that the tablet is just focused to be one of the cheap tablets. It lacks some important features like SIM support, Rear camera, Bluetooth, Processor-RAM. The tablet is priced to be below Rs. 6,000. The device could only be used for Android learners as a cheap entry level product. There are very few products in this price range like Byond Mi-book Mi1 Tablet or the some of the Zync Tablets, etc. I will not recommend this product for its missing features.
