Idea has started manufacturing GSM mobile phones. Idea Smartphone Id 918 seems to be the best of what idea can manufacture. It is a dual sim android 2.3 smartphone. Idea wanted to show the quality of the 3G connection. This phone can showcase that quality to the max. With the price of 6000 INR this phone can surely compete with Samsung Galaxy Y duos.

Idea Smartphone Id 918 is a very different name. I hope that they will not come with phone named with id`s. They should come up with some named series of phones. The phone has a capacitive touchscreen display of 3.2 inches. The display is pretty similar to Samsung Galaxy Y. Just below the display you can see 3 touchscreen buttons. One is for apps, search and back button. There is a search button which is helpful to search anything, may it be from phone or from internet.
The phone supports Java and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The phone has got competing features with any regular similar price phone from Samsung. The phone is Dual sim. Idea has surely kept in mind about the usage of customers. Many of the customers are using idea sim cards for the 3G sim slot and other network card for 2G. Let me talk about the 3 G connection. This phone is capable of pulling the juice(data) from the network flawlessly. Just use the 3G with ease with the Idea Smartphone Id 918.
Display resolution of the phone is standard 320 x 480 Pixels which is quite ok in which price the company is offering the phone. Primary camera of 3.2 MP. Though users say that the camera works like a 2 MP only. So there will be no much quality difference which can be expected from a 3.2 MP camera of Idea smartphone 918. Weight is 123 g which is a bit more In my opinion. Had it been around 105 gm and it would be fine. But still no major cause of concern.
Battery capacity the company is offering is 1300mAh which is quite sufficient to use the phone with internet browsing(casual use) which will be sustainable to a whole day. Expanded memory is of 32 GB and the company also provides a free memory card of 2 GB. Connectivity is also been a major boon for this phone. The phone works well in Wi-Fi connection providing good internet speed. USB connectivity support and 3.5 mm jack for headphones make it pretty standard.
Bluetooth version 3 will help to transfer files quickly. Music player supports MP3, AAC formats. Video player also supports MPEG formats. Phone has a 650 MHz processor and 256 MB RAM which will just do the work of multi-tasking. Phone has Gravity Sensor and Proximity Sensor. You can also listen to FM Radio. Sound quality is pretty nice. Company provides a free Memory card of 2 GB, a scratch guard and an exchangeable extra cover in the in-box accessories along with all normal assets(headset, data cable, user guide, battery).
If you compare this phone with Samsung galaxy Y duos, then only in the processor this phone will be lagging behind. Rest are the advantages. The phone also can be used to watch TV using “Idea TV” in-built application. It has pre installed Sound Recorder, Idea Application Store, Navigation, Calculator, Notepad, Racing Thunder Game, Idea Customized On and Off Screen, MMS Enabled, Email Clients & Idea Mall. It also contains social networking apps and Instant Messaging.
This is an altogether a great phone in the price. But as this phone is not available in many shops, you have to buy it from online stores. Idea should do more work in distribution(to make it available in local stores) on this kickass phone so that it can compete with the sales of Samsung Galaxy Y duos for sure!
