This phone is an Android ICS 4 inch phone powered with a 1 GHz processor. Well I was kind of shocked to see the price of the phone which is 19,499 INR. So this kept me interest in reviewing this phone.

Display: The display is of 4 inch, so the phone is easy to carry. Display`s resolution is 800 X 480 px. The main fact is that similar to most of the HTC devices this phone also has a very good display.

Texting: HTC Desire X Proto is overall good for texting. I tried texting both ways keeping the phone horizontal as well as vertical. QWERTY capacitive touchpad is always good for fast and easy texting.

Multimedia-Audio: Sound quality of this phone is overall good. When I played the latest song of Lady Gaga it was just awesome. The beats from the loudspeaker were crystal clear. The music player is very good as it supports playing many of the formats including MP3, AAC,AMR, M4A,OGG,MID,WMA and WAV. So music can be of any format this high end music player makes it play.

Multimedia-Video: As I said I played a song of Lady Gaga, actually I had played a video. It was a HD video and I must say awesome clearity and overall good video watching experience. The HD video playback is just a very cool experience. The default video player is also very good which serves the purpose. The video formats playable in the video player include AVI,MP4,3GP,3G2 and WMV.

Multimedia-Gaming: I played Temple Run and Angry Birds on this phone for fun. Well There was no lag as such while playing the games. So High end gaming is possible on this phone. Overall this phone is ok for gamers.

Camera: The rear camera is of 5 MP. The photos clicked by me from this phone were as the same quality of that of a 5MP camera. The pictures which I took of highest quality from this phone were of 2592 х 1944px resolution. So the phone does exhibit the same kind of quality which is expected. LED flash works fine in the dark and is useful. Video recording can be done flawlessly at 30fps. Well a caution for video callers there is no Secondary camera for this phone!

Browsing: Browsing internet was fun. Overall a very good experience of browsing internet on BSNL 3G. The pages were loading quickly and the browser interface is too good.

Battery: Well the battery capacity of the phone is less it is 1650mAh. So with all the performance it is providing it keeps up consuming the juice. After full charge with normal use it worked only for 13 hours. So low battery performance overall.

Usability:  Well the phone is easy to use. HTC`s phones are easy to unlock, just one swipe. Also the phone has a back button to the left. Which is similar to sony phones. There is no touch button whatsoever for search below the screen. The phone is overall easy to use and light in weight.

Final Verdict: Well I surely do`nt understand why this high profile brand like HTC is introducing a phone with low battery performance and no secondary camera for a price of 19,499 INR.
